Well, here is the official word from Medicare itself.

If you have not ever logged onto this site, I encourage you to do so as I frequently refer to this site as to the official word on everything related to Medicare Insurance.

I also encourage you at this point iof you have not done so already to register at myssa.gov for everything you need or want to now about Social Security as well. There is a wealth of relative and pertinent information on these sites.

Believe me, as someone who is also approaching Medicare Insurance myself, this information can be overwhelming. I get it, don’t worry. Time and time again, when I talk to people either looking for Medicare for the first time or those hwo have been on Medicare Insurance for some time, they all come away relived that they are not getting the “ spin” from me. So many folks have so many different understandings and opinions on Medicare Insurance it is unbelievable.

So here is exactly what the new Medicare card will look like.

Here is exactly when you should stat to look in the mailbox for your new Medicare Insurance card.

Imagine the undertaking it will take for Medicare to mail out all new Medicare cards to all the Medicare beneficiaries.

Of course by now you have heard that your Social Security number has been removed ( finally!!).

The card maintains it’s red, white and blue color scheme.

The new card is more like the size of a credit card so it will fit in your wallet better.

Each card will contain a code on the back for Doctors and Hospitals and other providers to simply scan the code to collect your Medicare Insurance information.

Each Medicare beneficiary will be randomly assigned a new Medicare number. I really do mean randomly assigned. No-one will be able to “ figure out” any personal information on you.
